It’s funny when I think of the song
“Papa was a rolling stone
Where ever he lay his head was his home..”
And in constrast, the many sweet songs about mama, and the many beautiful things always been said about mothers and fathers, rolling stones.
As much as we might decide to adore our mother, I’m quitely coming to a realization that mom’s have deluded us — the mom factor.
As I write these, I’m having flashes of people who think they are the best at whatever they do because mom said so; and go through life wearing a veil of ignorance. It’s respectible that mom’s want to positively reinforce us to be how best and of course I think of Boyz II Men’s ‘A Song for Mama’ and more importantly I wouldn’t be in existence if not for some woman, my mother (from whom I’ve been seperated for 14 years though).
And I’m hoping I’d grow up and be that father who isn’t a rolling stone; my very random thought for the moment.
