Divorce, Life meet Poetry

August 28th, 2009 § 1

Yesterday  I mentioned on writing poetry that anyone can read and relate to. It  isn’t that easy (considering the nature of poetry  itself); think about writing a personal story and hoping after reading the story, the person becomes me. I would keep trying hopefully someday, less readers would find poetry boring and lifeless.

On a different and related note,  50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second and 74% of third marriages end in divorce (http://www.divorcerate.org/); this are not bright numbers and little wonder my parents fall into the 50% of first marriage failure. And me, living with my dad since their divorce when I was 8 brings some memories to mind.

Memories I wish never existed. I wish I had a mother and a father complimenting roles and having me into a well-rounded being. I’m lucky. Many where not even privilege to have a father or mother, how about those privilege to have both but are more of a detriment to them than help. All these  comes to mind and I write:

It’s a fellowship of strong 9s,
9 months’ a stronger one.
Thoughts to reason high:
At 19 I think it must have been 10,
O, times I’ve wished,
Nice times I’ve hoped – O, those lost times.
Those seals of 9 months,
Those lessons of life owned,
Where’s those love I’ve hoped?

O! I’ve got Papa
Pa-Ma, not one.
Me-Pa, let Ma.

Pa’s grieved – breaks are painful.

Console Pa – Son loves Pa.
Never a rolling stone,
Here’s a strong son built.
Son’s grown – it’s been 9 ones!

Me-Ma – breaks are painful.

Ma is forever Ma,
9 months! ’tis a strong bond!
Son’s 2 and 2,
Now it’s 13, Son meets Ma.
