The title I gave this post feels so wrong and I intend to make it that wrong to draw attention to a section and an interpretation you might not come by in the mainstream publicising of the Holy Bible we all adore and treasure and believe is inspired by God.
Here’s me, going through the Bible hoping to calm the allegation of those who say I don’t believe in it because I don’t read it enough and I came across this (emphasis are mine):
Trust me, even if you’re not Christian, you will find this equally interesting.
Genesis 19 (King James Version):
1And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
2And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
3And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
4But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
6And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
7And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
8Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
I’m assuming that upon first read that wouldn’t sink-in well so I’d quote it again: “…I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing…” Okay. Maybe reading this from the KJV is what’s getting me confused I hurried to look it up in a simplified bible to fully understand what this section of the bible really meant to say. And here’s it from the Amplified Bible: “…Look now, I have two daughters who are virgins; let me, I beg of you, bring them out to you, and you can do as you please with them. But only do nothing to these men,…”
Wow. Really? The bible prefers that a host of horny men rape a [supposedly] sane man’s virgins to death while he protects his visitors who they intend to involve themselves in same sex acts with. This seems enough to put me in deep thought. Is this the same book that many would model there life after and claim it’s an inspiration from God?
As this section suggest, women don’t mean much in the bible (more women where abused in the bible than men), the term “wickedly” does have a different meaning in the bible. Raping women, fine. Raping men, Wicked!
In the compilation of the bible this must be another part they forgot to remove.

Lot knew that the two men were angels. He was waiting for them at the gate. [Genesis 19:1] He prayed to God asking for his deliverance, and it had come in the form of the angels. He offered to sacrifice his own children to the orgies rather than these two angels. Another sacrifice of this kind is Abraham who is willing to kill his son Isaac to prove his commitment to following God’s commandments.
While many interpret the story of Sodom and Gomorrah as a condemnation of homosexuality, it is in fact, a condemnation on sacred sexuality worship of Asherah (Goddess of Sacred Sexuality) via orgies.
For more, read Genesis 18: 16-33 when Abraham pleads to God, to save Lot.

Thanks for bringing up the case of Abraham wanting to sacrifice his son. If that where to happen today, you and I know Isaac might never recover from such trauma but, we sure can’t judge them by our standards today (assuming they even existed at all).
God, like a prankster suddenly shows and says: “I was just kidding, don’t kill your son” (of course not literally) and this issue has been an upheld moral standard even till today for three of the most popular religion (Judaism, Muslim, and Christianity) as a standard of obedience — really?
Are you saying God condones homosexuality? I doubt your interpretation because Lot was offering to have his daughter raped! How exactly is Lot any different from these people God wants to destroy to even harbor such a thought?
And again, morality is subjective, point lingers, what is the moral of the barbaric practices of the bible to the modern man?
The lesson is in faith Hewberws 1:17-19 below
By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God ad said to him, “It is through ISaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”
Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.
How exactly is Lot any different from these people God wants to destroy to even harbor such a thought?
Go back to the verses I presented when Abraham pleads with God. Lot was faithful to God. In fact, he was the only one in town.
If you’re speaking of war, there is tons of war in the Bible. In fact Jesus lets us know in Mark 13, they will continue to exist until his return, the Second Coming.

Faith. “…is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” (Heb 11:1, Amp) Why does it always result to faith? I should add that this is one of what makes religion/God cloud human thought rather than clarify it — it's like someone asking me: “How can we cure cancer?” and I respond: “Love”.
The point I was trying to make on Lot was, he was willing to have a host of aggressive men rape his daughter — and God thinks this fine? I'm worried. Even I an human would frown at such but meet God, he decided to save this kind of person (who, isn't morally better than the Sodomites) . Let's face it, those who wrote the bible are just trying to push the point of Jews favor from God.
“…In fact Jesus lets us know in Mark 13, they will continue to exist until his return, the Second Coming.” << Really? And how is a message like this supposed to keep anyone in line. Scratch that, read it this way, isn't a message like this prone to cause anxiety?
